What is Visual Language? Why do we love certain pictures, what makes them compelling?

We will investigate the march of visual language from the beginning of photography in the 1830's till today when almost everyone has a camera in their pocket! We will be shooting our own photos and discussing them.

 

Supply List:

Bring a camera with you. Can be digital, manual or even your smart phone.

 

Artist Bio

I am a lifelong professional photographer.  My career started as a staff photojournalist and photo editor at 'The St. Petersburg Times' and then 'The Philadelphia Inquirer'.  From there to my own freelance business shooting advertising and editorial photography for corporate entities, newspapers, medical centers, universities and magazines. I was also a Senior Lecturer at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. And book author of 'The Last Veterans of WWII' published by Schiffer Publishing.
