In this course learn to use soft pastel to paint the human figure from a live model. Throughout the class, you'll examine the human form and begin to understand how color and light effect tone and shape. What creative ways can you use color in your figurative drawings? Students have the option of working on pastel board or on a drawing pad of pastel paper. Tinted paper works very well with this medium. 

Students are asked to bring pastel paper and a basic set of pastels to the first class. More information about papers and pastels will be covered then.
