ONSITE Lacemaking
ONSITE Lacemaking

Handcrafted lace work is a century old technique. The skills required to master this art have been handed down from generation to generation. Join Turkish teaching artist Ylvia as she teaches you years of tradition and skill in the art of handmade needle lace. The beauty of crochet is in its flexibility. Knowing how to make a single and a double crochet can create hundreds of beautiful stitches and patterns. In this 10-week class you will learn the basics of crochet lace. Students will learn how to edge pieces of material with a decorative flare. This technique of lace making allows students to have many creative options using a needle and threads.

Examples of lace making can be seen on the artists’ Instagram page @ylvia_asal_of_anatolia
