In this course we will familiarize ourselves with the basic tools and techniques of jewelry making, such as cutting, drilling, filing, polishing, and soldering. Our objective will be to make a chain link bracelet with a toggle clasp, and learn how to fabricate a bezel setting and set a cabochon gemstone.  

Artist Bio

Your jewelry adventure will be guided by Amelia Messec, a graduate from the University of the Arts with a  BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing. Amelia is the owner of Amelia Jane Designs, since 2016. Before starting a family, and her own business, she worked as a high end production bench jeweler for world renowned Philadelphia design houses; honing her skills and falling in love with the intricacies of fine jewelry. Drawn to the allure of gemstones, stone setting has always been an integral part of her work. Through her career she has focused on clean lines and simplistic elegance while procuring an array of gems for her work.  From vending at craft shows, to selling in boutiques & galleries, to creating custom engagement rings and wedding bands Amelia has built a loyal following.
