In this course, students will learn the essentials of tapestry weaving. We will use a frame loom to create hand woven tapestry wall hangings. We will cover material selection, tools, warping a loom, various stitches and knots, shapes, negative space, removing a weaving from the loom and various finishing techniques. Intermediate weavers may enjoy the refresher, or work independently with technical support.
Students can purchase their own loom kit here: https://www.athomemodern.com/product-page/perkins-center-for-the-arts-weaving-kit
