In this course, students will learn the essentials of tapestry weaving. We will use a frame loom to create hand woven tapestry wall hangings. We will cover material selection, tools, warping a loom, various stitches and knots, shapes, negative space, removing a weaving from the loom and various finishing techniques. Intermediate weavers may enjoy the refresher, or work independently with technical support.
Students can purchase their own loom and pick it up at Perkins Collingswood location prior to the start of class. Call 856.235.6488 to purchase. Pick-up is on Mondays from 9am-1pm at our Collingswood location starting January 18.
