Students are invited to explore the exciting mix of different materials and processes without the "fear of failure”. Color, composition, and texture all come together using printmaking processes, painting, drawing, and collage⁠—all while learning how art history informs individual work.

Welcome to the virtual Mixed Media class!

Thank you so much for taking a chance and participating in this experiment.

I have not done this online before and will ask for your patience and your sense of humor!

I have a plan. We are going back to basics and doing five weeks of drawing.

I promise it wont be boring because we will be adding selected areas of collage and color to them.

Please set up a simple still life in your work space - could be two objects. You can also try a self portrait.

I will also do the same and do a demo.

Since its a bit harder to get materials now I thought this would be easier for now.

So what you need is 

• Objects to draw

• Pencil

• Paper

• Magazines to cut up or any colored paper or newspaper

• Photos (or copies of them) to cut up

• Color - can be watercolor, acrylic, color pencils etc (this is for later)
