Intro to Tapestry Weaving - Collingswood
Intro to Tapestry Weaving - Collingswood

In this course, students will learn the essentials of tapestry weaving. We will use a frame loom to create hand woven tapestry wall hangings. We will cover material selection, tools, warping a loom, various stitches and knots, shapes, negative space, removing a weaving from the loom and various finishing techniques. Intermediate weavers may enjoy the refresher, or work independently with technical support.

Loom kits will be available for student use during class. If students would like to purchase their kit, they are $55 and include:

• 14 inch loom

• comb

• pick up stick

• thread needle

• weaving needle

• enough warp thread for first weaving
